Formula
last day = resignation date + notice length (− 1 day if the resignation day counts as day one)
- Months are calendar months; working days skip Saturdays and Sundays.
Count forward from the resignation date by the length of your notice.

- 2026-10-01

- Calendar days (every day)
- Day one of the notice is
- The day after I resign
Last day of notice
Saturday, 31 October 2026
Calendar days in the notice period: 30
From today (your device date): 28 days to go
How it works
Resigning on 1 October with 30 calendar days' notice puts the last day on 31 October if the clock starts the next day, or 30 October if the resignation day counts as day one. Employers differ, so the tool lets you pick; your offer letter or HR will say which applies.
Choosing working days skips weekends: 10 working days from Friday 5 January ends on Friday 19 January. Public holidays and leave taken during the notice can shift the real date — use the Working Days Calculator with a holiday list for that. To add any period to a date see Date Calculator: Add or Subtract Time; for total service see Experience Calculator.
Assumptions and limits
- Notice terms in your contract take precedence.
- Notice buy-outs and garden leave aren't modelled.
