Formula
attendance % = classes attended ÷ classes held × 100
- Classes held counts every scheduled class so far.
Divide the classes you were present for by all the classes that took place.
Worked example
30 of 40 classes
- Classes attended
- 30
- Total classes held
- 40
- Required attendance
- 75 %
Attendance
75.00%
Against the 75% requirement: Meets the requirement
Classes missed: 10
How it works
30 classes attended out of 40 held is 30 ÷ 40 × 100 = 75%. The tool compares the result with the minimum you set and tells you how many percentage points you are short, if any.
Institutions treat medical leave, duty leave and rounding differently — some round 74.5% up to 75%. This tool shows the plain figure, so check your rules. To plan ahead, see how many more classes you must attend, or can miss, with the Required Attendance Calculator. Your marks percentage is on Marks Percentage Calculator.
Assumptions and limits
- No rounding up is applied to the percentage.
