Formula
qualifies if your percentile ≥ the category's qualifying percentilepercentile = 100 × (candidates appeared − rank + 1) ÷ candidates appeared
- General / EWS: 50th percentile
- General / EWS with a disability (PwBD): 45th percentile
- OBC, SC and ST (including their PwBD categories): 40th percentile
You qualify when you are at or above the qualifying percentile for your category; the matching marks are published each year.

How it works
NEET (UG) qualification is defined by percentile, not by a fixed mark: General and EWS candidates must reach the 50th percentile, those in the General or EWS category with a disability the 45th, and OBC, SC and ST candidates the 40th. The NTA then publishes the qualifying marks that correspond to those percentiles for that year, which is why the marks change from year to year.
You can check in two ways. Enter your marks along with the official qualifying marks for your category from the result notice, or enter your all-India rank and the number of candidates who appeared and the tool computes your percentile. If you enter both, it shows both checks and tells you if they disagree.
Your marks alone cannot be turned into a percentile here because that depends on every other candidate's score. Add your marks with the NEET UG Marks Calculator first. Qualifying is also not the same as getting a seat: that depends on counselling rank, seats and state or institute rules. For the underlying percentile idea see the JEE Main Percentile Calculator.
Assumptions and limits
- Percentile thresholds: 50th (General/EWS), 45th (General/EWS PwBD), 40th (OBC/SC/ST including their PwBD) — as stated in the NTA's NEET (UG) criteria described by independent summaries.
- Cut-off marks are not stored here. Enter the official figure for your year; the example numbers are illustrative.
- State and institute eligibility rules can add conditions not covered here.
