How to use it
A UPI QR code is a standard payment link stored as text. The link names the receiver (the UPI ID, shown as pa), the name shown to the payer (pn), an optional amount (am), the currency (cu, which is INR) and an optional note (tn). When someone scans the code with a UPI app, the app reads those fields and opens a payment screen with them filled in. This tool builds the link from what you type, checks the shape of the UPI ID and the amount, and draws the code instantly in your browser.
Leave the amount empty for a code that can be reused for any payment, or add an amount and note for a single invoice. The tool cannot check that the UPI ID really exists or is yours, so scan the finished code with your own UPI app and confirm the name that appears before you print or share it. It is not a payment service: no money passes through this site, and it cannot tell you whether a payment was made, so always confirm receipts in your bank or UPI app.
The code is generated locally and nothing is stored or sent. Keep the white margin when printing, use a dark code on a light background, and avoid placing stickers over the squares. For other kinds of codes use the QR Code Generator or the Wi-Fi QR Code Generator, and to prepare a printable picture of the code use the Image Resizer.

|---|---|
| Fields | UPI ID (required), payee name (required), amount (optional, up to 2 decimals), note (optional). |

| Downloads | PNG (128–2048 px) and SVG. Error-correction levels L to H. |
| Not included | This is not a payment service: no money passes through this site, and it does not confirm payments. |
| Privacy | Your UPI ID and details are used only to build the code in this tab; nothing is sent or stored. |
Practical examples
A shop counter code with no amount
- Situation
- Enter your UPI ID and shop name and leave the amount empty.
- What to expect
- Customers scan the code, see your name in their UPI app and type the amount themselves. Check the name shown matches before printing.
An invoice with a fixed amount
- Situation
- Enter the amount, for example 1500, and a note such as “Invoice 1042”.
- What to expect
- The payer's app opens with the amount and note filled in. Most apps still let the payer confirm or, in some cases, edit the details, so check payments in your own account.
A mistyped UPI ID
- Situation
- The ID is missing the part after the @ sign.
- What to expect
- The tool explains what a UPI ID looks like and does not build the code until it is fixed.
The numbers behind it
upi://pay?pa=<UPI ID>&pn=<payee name>&am=<amount>&cu=INR&tn=<note>modules per side = 17 + 4 × version
- pa is the payee address (UPI ID), pn the payee name, am the optional amount, cu the currency and tn the optional note
- Spaces and symbols in the name and note are percent-encoded
The code stores a standard UPI payment link; the paying app reads it and pre-fills the details.
Honest limits
- This is not a payment service and cannot confirm that payments are received.
- The tool cannot verify that a UPI ID exists or belongs to you; test the finished code in your own UPI app.
- Some UPI apps may ignore or let the payer change a pre-filled amount or note.
